“But IDigress…” returns (again)!
This week, another YouTuber published a bad faith video full of kaiju hot takes. This time it was GSTE making unfounded criticisms of the masterful Heisei Gamera trilogy. Such a hot take requires the combined powers of Nathan Marchand and Ryan “The Omni Viewer” Collins to rebut it.
This video proved controversial after GSTE got wind of it and bombarded it with comments. See and read for yourself.
(I intended for this to be set as a premiere on YouTube, but it didn’t work. Oops).
I’ve been sitting on this video for a while now, and I finally got around to editing and uoploading it. In this, I unbox a new anthology from Onward and Upward Media, A Time for Everything, which is a collection of short stories to which I contributed. Each of the tales within is based on a line from Ecclesistes 3. I chose “a time to dance” because I’m a ballroom dancer in my spare time. Enjoy this fun little video!
Recently I was interviewed by Ricky Pope on the Christian Nerds Unite podcast with Scott Bayles. It pertained to The Fantastic 42: A Fellowship Facing Doom with Hope, the latest in the 42 devotional series. We both contributed to that book, and we go into a lot of detail in the interview about why we chose the characters we wrote about as well as the origin of this new book. After the longest of hiatuses, my old YouTube show returns as a live show/YouTube shorts series! I relaunched it for Gen-Con 2021, doing daily recap streams with my friend and co-author Eric Anderson, the founder of Nerd Chapel, discussing what we did at the convention and how our book sales went each day. This past Sunday, I was interviewed by Kaiju Kim, who makes the most wholesome kaiju content you’ll see on YouTube. It was Father’s Day, so the chat was relatively quiet, but we still had a good time discussing kaiju literature–including books and short stories I’ve written and published myself. Give it a watch!

This first video is…not great. I had lots of technical issues, as you’ll see. However, I do think I’ll remake this in anotehr video.
